Cave Concerts: Josh Baze
The MLB Fan Cave is pleased to welcome hip hop artist Josh Baze as the next act in the 2012 MLBFanCave.com Concert series. Baze, a Brooklyn native, will play an exclusive live set on May 15, 7:30PM.
The performance is open to the public and fans are encouraged to come down to the MLB Fan Cave (corner of 4th and Broadway) for the chance to see the set. Please note that space is limited.

About Josh Baze: Breakthrough Hip-Hop artist Josh Baze was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York just a few blocks from legendary rapper Biggie Smalls’ childhood home.
His love for music dates back to his father’s career as a DJ. With an endless selection of cassette tapes at his fingertips, Baze lost himself in the music, dreaming of what it would be like to be one of the legends. Early on, Baze wrote and produced using only a PC and an outdated version of Cool Edit Pro. His attractive image also landed him a modeling deal with Italian fashion label Versace and a variety of other marquee brands and publications.
In Summer 2010, he put his musical skills on showcase opening for Slick Rick at BB Kings in New York and immediately caught industry attention. During that time, Baze connected with music producer Griffin Guess, who has worked with many Hip-Hop masters such as Kanye West, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Eminem and many others for marketing and music development since 2003.
Baze officially signed under Guess’ label Cartel Records and in December 2010, flew to Los Angeles to record two singles and debut album at the famous Paramount Recording Group. Baze’s cutting edge voice and witty lyrics sparked interest in key industry players, landing him prime real estate in the print edition of Entertainment Weekly along with numerous online write-ups in US Magazine, XXL, MTV/VH1, Artist Direct and AOL Music.
In May 2011, legendary Hip-Hop music video director/producer Hype Williams signed on to direct and shoot Baze’s debut music video for his song “We Made It.” It debuted on iTunes as Video of the Week in November, 2011 and three months later MTVu voted the video Freshman of the Week, landing prime airplay on MTV2.
In July 2011, Baze was invited to the GRAMMY Academy as the first ever Hip-Hop artist to do an exclusive meet & greet, Q&A and private performance for the GRAMMY staff. ESPN also joined forces with Josh Baze integrating “Hollyhood” and “We Made It” into their daily news program SportsCenter.
Baze’s full album, Hi-Heels & Low-Lifes, is due to drop March 20, 2012, backed by an exclusive, promotional campaign with iTunes. Baze’s album flirts with the boundaries of music, pulling influences from Hip-Hop, Indie-Alt, Electronic and Rock genres. Even more notable is Baze’s lyrical vigor, comparable to that of Jay-Z and Kanye West.
Josh Baze will make his promotional talk show rounds in early March including visits to Jimmy Kimmel Live, Last Call with Carson Daly, Sucker Free Daily Countdown and 106 & Park, amongst others.
